If you ONLY want to use the drive with your PC, choose to format it as NTFS. A pop-up box will appear, change the name of your PS4 hard drive and amend the format of the disk to exFAT. Select your external drive from the Disk Utility interface and click on Erase. You will now need to format the partition. Select Disk Utility from the list and open it. Now right click again and create a new partition. At any rate, you should be able to right-click on that area and delete the existing partition if any ("Delete Volume").
